Hardison whistled under his breath and leaned closer. “I am all about the Monets and the Manets and all of that, but this? This is what I call art.”

Close encounters of the FBI kind.
Neal stuck his hand in his pocket and came to stand next to him, looking out at the New York night. "It doesn't have to be complicated."
"He's a collector," Neal said. // "Just don't get into trouble while we're gone," Nate said.
A routine investigation into an art theft turns up Neal's fingerprints on a stolen painting. Neal swears he's never stolen a Nullier painting, but that's only half the truth...
Leverage/White Collar, Neal, Peter, Leverage Team, "You knew they were working a con, and you didn't stop them?" "Nope." "Why not, Peter?"
Maggie couldn’t believe her eyes. “Elizabeth? Elizabeth Burke?”
Her reply was one of boredom. “So don’t get caught!”
Neal knows a very sad story about a thief and a sailor. Peter's still stuck on pirates.
They haven't exactly met in linear order, Neal and the Doctor, but sometimes that makes for the best kind of friendship.
A profile is one of the harder likenesses to get right. On a boring stakeout, Peter and Neal test some handcuffs and discuss alleged art heists and portraiture. Set after “Copycat Caffrey.”
There's a place in Neal Caffrey's head where he doesn't have to lie to himself or be three steps ahead of the other guy, but so far only Peter has found it -- and Peter won't give him what he really wants. Elizabeth, meanwhile, is slowly adjusting to the idea of abetting felons...
White Collar, ftm!Neal (slash with Peter welcome). Peter knows all the intimate details of Neal's life, and he's used each of them against him, except for this.
Neal Caffrey doesn't know it, but he's probably the best thing that ever happened to Peter and Elizabeth's sex life.
FBI tradition holds that matters of life and death urgency constitute a no-boundaries rule. (And other excuses Peter has made.) AKA "Five Times Peter Insists He Didn't Actually Dress Neal".
Neal is so very tired of saying no.
Serving a minor search warrant, Peter comes across a stash of very illegal pornography, and Neal has to face something he thought he laid to rest years ago.
There are six rules every con should obey. Neal's going to break them all. Starting with his refrigerator.
Neal Caffrey is falling in love with his handler, Special Agent Patricia Burke. Her husband Eliot is probably going to kill him.
"All right," Nate says, and smacks his hands together. "Let's go steal a con artist."
Neal needs love and admiration like he needs air, but there's a huge obstacle to his ever having someone to grow old with. He doesn't like sex, so he rarely gets past a [some number, anon doesn't want to imply there's a standard number of dates before sex] date. At some point they *always* expect what he can't stand to give them. Kate was the only woman he'd ever known who was like him and didn't want sex. Without her, he faces the rest of his life needing love but ultimately lonely. I'd like to see Peter or maybe Elizabeth figure this out.
When their latest case has ties to his past as a sex worker, Neal goes undercover as himself, and Peter isn't happy about it.
I'd like to see Diana or Jones finding out about Neal and Peter's relationship and confronting Neal about it. Not in an accusing way, but in a "I want to make sure you're really okay with it, because there are dynamics here that might make it seem like you don't have a choice, but you should know that you really really do" way. Bonus for emphasizing their loyalty to Peter, but also letting Neal know that if Peter's abusing his authority in some way, they will stand up for Neal regardless of the consequences. I think this would be great either from Diana's POV or Jones' (especially Jones' because we haven't gotten to see quite so much of him.) Specifics of Neal's reaction are up to you, but I'd like him to be touched by the fact that they care about him enough to ask.
Neal travels alone to clear out his stash.
Elizabeth's in Seattle for work, but Neal and Peter had given her a present.
It's easy to assume. It's even easier to let them assume.
The reason Neal and Elizabeth look so much alike. ('tis the season to be trite...)
“You will never guess what I stole,” Neal’s singsong voice came over the earpiece.
Some things are true and some are not.
Arthur and Eames adopt a kid and raise that kid into Neal Caffrey.
Neal needs a favor, and calls a friend of a friend.
Neal didn't owe many people favors.
Diana gets annoyed at Neal for flirting with her, he admits that he only flirts so much because it doesn't mean anything. He confesses that he's never come out to anyone but Kate, and he doesn't want to lie to Peter, but he's also scared that coming out will cause him to lose the most important person in his life. Diana helps and encourages him.
Neal forgot to turn off his audio transmitter before engaging in some personal business. Well, "forgot"...
"You, upstairs," El said to Neal. He beamed, twirled on one foot, and trotted out. "And you need to stop making it so fun to mess with you," she added to Peter. She surprised a look of such melting fondness on his face as he looked after Neal that her breath caught. "No," he said quietly. "I really don't."
Jones and Diana talk shop, promotions, politics, and the sex lives of their colleagues during the weekly Friday Night Safety Meeting.
Neal still dreams of the big cons -- but now they have a familiar cast of characters.
Recs for Almost every fandom under the sun (baring most RPF) (more fandoms than I have listed.
Neal has a lead on a priceless work of art he wants to recover, and he needs Peter's help.
Space AU - Peter got Neal paroled to his and El's ship because he couldn't bear the thought of Neal on a prison planet. El hijacks Neal into her event planning because she can't bear to see his talents being wasted while he and Peter pine over each other. But there's many perils in space, not the least of which is to convince her boys to stop being silly and listen to her!
Unorthodox Methods: "AU from original premise of SPN – Sam goes to law school and eventually joins the FBI, where he gets assigned as Peter’s probie, and the New York FBI office staff are amused, and eventually, slightly traumatized." pockets full of stones: "This is a trick." my favorite view: "The one where Jon is a fetish photographer." It Is Written (aka The Brave Knight Saves the Handsome Prince From a Fate Moste Untenable): "Fairy-tale AU, wherein Kris is a knight, and Adam is... a unicorn." How Becky Totally Saved the World Without Becoming a Mary Sue or: PLEASE R&R OR I'LL NEVER WRITE: "The upside of living with a prophet was the fanfic. And the forewarning of the apocalypse. But, mostly the fic." A Sam Adams Moment: "The clutch of seven ZPMs they find on Dedahr's rocky third moon results, in rough chronological order, in a brief fainting fit on Rodney's part; a message back to Atlantis that creates near hysteria amongst its scientists and startles a truly blasphemous exclamation in Czech out of Zelenka; a fully-powered city whose midnight glow is refracted through its shields; five destroyed hive ships and one very raucous, ruus-wine fuelled celebration; wormhole travel back to Earth, which is soon protected once more by the Ancient weapons platform in Antarctica; and the IOC declaring that the expedition's brief can be expanded from defence to broader exploration."
As part of their plan to take down a crooked art dealer, the Leverage team need a painting forged in a hurry. Luckily, Alec Hardison knows just the guy – Neal Caffrey.
The problem with being one of the good guys now is that when Eliot sees a gun being waved around, he feels like he needs to step in. Neal is suitably grateful.
Few So Generous: After Odin falls into the Odinsleep, Frigga takes up her husband’s spear and the rule of Asgard. For Children: It's crept up on Natasha without her realizing it. Her Boss's Keeper: Diana has been working for the White Collar division for all of a week before she figures out that her new boss is, in fact, a thin shell of grouch over a marshmallow center. Five People Who Caught Darcy Doodling: Darcy can't always taser people to work out her frustration. Bros!: In which Darcy remembers something that Tony (mostly) doesn't, Jane is rendered awkward, and there is some snarking about polka-dot bras.
When he takes the rap for a crime committed by Barney and the Swordsman, Clint is charged as an adult at 17 and spends the next four years of his life without protection in prison. Enter one Neal Caffrey, who knows how to charm his way to whatever he wants or needs, and Clint's life gets a lot more interesting. Pretty much, the story of Clint in prison, Clint getting out, and Clint, like always, finding his way to SHIELD, and Phil.
Everyone thinks Peter Burke has only caught Neal Caffrey twice. Everyone is wrong.
Some things are true and some are not.
Neal knows a very sad story about a thief and a sailor. Peter's still stuck on pirates.
