say there’s something better
“It’s like, his little hornzorz!” Latula says. She rips open a new pack of Flamin Hott Fire Crispoz with extreme prejudice, manic with food dye and pity.
Heart-Shaped Bruise
Flash first sees them when Parker is at his locker one morning. Just peeking out of the cuff of one of the sleeves of his sweatshirt. Bruises, mottled and bluish-black, like Parker's been in a fight.
Bright As The Sun/Bold As The Moon
Derek finally works up the courage to ask for something, and Stiles is more than willing to help. (Or the one where Derek and Stiles have been together for years and have a relationship based on mutual love, trust, and respect.)
Bonding Time (or: Six Villains Who Were Slightly Less Than Villainous)
Every villain has a favorite. It's practically a rule.
An Apprehension of Imminent Harm
Scott said, "Here, catch," and Isaac looked up to see a glass arcing through the air, aimed at his head.
Animals And Angels
Only Severus sees what's really going on here.
You Want a Better Story

They cannot see, but she does. Myrcella sees.

Five times Winona Kirk was a badass mom, and one time she realized she’d raised an equally badass son.
In Abeyance, In Arrears
Sentimental
Victor wants to ask Yuuri to marry him and needs some advice. Yakov is perhaps not the best person to go to for that advice (or perhaps he is the best man for the job after all.)
a riddle to guess if you can
All-Might has a few things he would like to get off his chest.
this beauty breaking on my hands
Clary has never been any good at putting things back together. When they were in middle school and she accidentally knocked over Simon’s Lego Millennium Falcon, he’d already known to say it was fine repeatedly and usher her out the door instead of accepting her offer to help him rebuild it; if he’d let her try, the wings would have ended up upside down and there suddenly wouldn't have been space for the engine. Her heart is in the right place, usually, but it doesn't often translate to her hands. So when he hears through the shadow world gossip mill that Alec's parabatai rune disappeared briefly, it doesn't take more than one look at Jace’s face to know that she’s been fucking around with the threads of fate again. And, well. She's never been that great at sewing, either.
Whom so ever you love, I shall love
Falling for Magnus Bane is a surprisingly easy thing to do.
do not go gentle
Jace would rather be anywhere else than here - stuck in some alternate dimension with Clary and Simon frigging Lewis. But, unfortunately, he doesn't have a choice. Also, Jace is not okay.
We've All Got a Story
Vanya was never the only one that felt lonely and uncared for in this family. Klaus has some things to say before she tries to bring this world to an end. And hey, maybe those things will convince her not to.
if i should call you up, invest a dime
Klaus, he reads, fingers shaking along the edge of the page of his sister's book, was a very eccentric child. He could also see ghosts. This, he thinks, is very spot on. (Klaus outs himself on live television when he’s fourteen, and the past never really goes away. Publicity's a bitch.)
and all my life, I never had a chance
“Very well. I’m going to tell you straight up — when you told me you hadn’t remembered that episode at all, it was a red flag. Given everything else you’ve said up to this point and how you reacted to recalling it and what you’ve said about your general coping mechanisms —” “Coping mechanisms?” “You might not know it was that, but you’ve used a lot of them. And this is where I tell you that repression or suppression of traumatic memories is very common, when discussing child abuse victims. Especially male ones.” He doesn’t know why his first instinct is denying it. It’s fucking ridiculous. He went to a guy who’s a fucking authority on the subject because deep down he knew that could be the issue, if he even thinks about that one memory he wants to throw up, since he remembered that he hasn’t been able to walk near dogs without wanting to jump on the other side of the road, it’s been two months and he’s gained a new awareness of how unhealthy his entire life was until he broke it off with her — And still, his first instinct is telling him, it can’t be?
I’ve got things on my mind (and they're gonna come out from time to time)
And now he’s just… how the fuck is he even supposed to talk to Tyrion in his life without blurting hey, you know what, I’ve just discussed a few things with my therapist and guess what, I let her ruin your life, too, and I didn’t understand how much, and I didn’t even hear you out when you tried to tell me and you had half my fucking years, will you ever forgive me for that? He has no fucking clue. He has no bloody fucking clue, and fine, that is why he’s pretty much unable to think of anything else, but it still doesn’t mean he had any right to be a fucking arse to others.
all the lambs grow fangs and hunt down the lions
The first time Dr. Rodriguez uses the words emotional abuse and manipulation and controlling boyfriend, Bella freezes. The second time she runs away. The third time she stays, and breathes, and listens. Bella Swan, embracing humanity one year at a time for a decade.
It's not pity
Wolfgang is no longer alone dealing with his ghosts.
War Remnants
Wen Ning began to go, then hesitated. “Do you need medical assistance, Sect Leader Nie? I know a little…” “Wen Qionglin.” “…yes?” “Take the child and go.” (an unexpected encounter in the aftermath of the Sun Palace)
A Fault of Temperament
Madame Yu has always been irredeemably stubborn. You think a little thing like being taken captive by the Wen sect after they invaded her home, destroyed her husband's golden core, and sent her children fleeing to the winds is going to stop her?
to touch what is good in you
That sort of tight-curled body almost always means pain. Bly pauses at the edge of the camp, attention caught by the last campfire before the ring of sentries. A man, Human, is seated on a rock by the fire, curled in on himself with his knees drawn up, and the length of his limbs means he’s probably tall, but he’s managed to press himself down into a knot that looks strangely vulnerable. He doesn’t have a cloak, but there's a worn pack on the ground next to him, and he wouldn’t be the first intelligence officer to look a little out of place in the middle of a battalion of clones.
life begins to happen
“Shh, shh, we’re almost there,” Feemor murmurs, and the trembling teenage girl pressed tight to his side gives a jerky nod, though she doesn’t release her death grip on his belt.
Jump Into That Water
You are not your biology. Tyler’s mother had told him that so many times growing up. When he told her he wanted to play hockey but was afraid to go up against so many alphas. You are not your biology. When an alpha triggered his heat during a scrum and Tyler had to be carried off the ice, fever already burning up his bones. You are not your biology. Tyler wishes he could believe her.
Sonatina
It had started at a promotional event for the Pens at a sporting goods store. A little boy with bright eyes had handed his new skates over to be autographed and said, very politely, “Will you please sign it? It’ll be super lucky if you do, and I can skate really fast and score a bunch of goals like you.”
running with scissors
Commander Ponds whirls around at the sound of Mace’s step and bolts up to his feet. He begs Mace not to take Boba back to Kamino. He says that he’ll look after him. He’ll take responsibility. With hands pressed together, he pleads for mercy for his brother. Mace tells him not to be ridiculous. Of course he isn’t taking Boba back to Kamino. He’s waiting, that’s all. It is only fair to give everyone a second chance. Even Jango Fett. (An AU where Mace Windu acquires and shares custody over a six-year-old Boba with Jango.)
Carve a Place for Ourselves
Fenris decides to write Varania a letter. It doesn't go well. At least, not at first. The reason for the T rating should be clear from the tags. There's no detailed discussion of any of it, and it's all in the past, but this just didn't feel like a G-rated story.
barter
Jack Drake catches his son sneaking in through the window, and jumps to the wrong conclusion.
Show The World (You Love Him)
“It has come to the attention of the staff and myself,” Nezu replies, something dark and calculating in his gaze as he stares at all of them, “that there is a possibility that your relationship with Shinsō-kun is ... non consensual.” Hitoshi can’t help the way he flinches sharply, breathing going shallow and ragged as his heart skips a beat and his eyes squeeze tightly shut. There it is.
those hardest to love need it most
Shouta gripped the phone tight enough to make the phone case groan. “So it’s true. Midoriya was Quirkless.” “Until soon before the entrance exam,” Nedzu confirmed. “That’s not relevant now, though, because—“ “Relevant?” Shouta hissed. “Midoriya is barely functional, socially. He doesn’t trust any adult. He thinks the whole world hates him. He apologizes for everything except breaking the law, and I’m sure I can trace every single one of those things back to his Quirklessness. You call that irrelevant?” Aizawa visits Aldera Junior High and finds out some disturbing truths.
mouth shut (eyes down)
Teachers and Izuku don't mesh well. If Izuku speaks up, he gets in trouble. If Izuku gets picked on, he gets in trouble. If Izuku lets his guard down for one second, he gets in trouble. Izuku isn't stupid. He knows UA isn't going to be any different.
never knew daylight could be so violent
Tsunagu is just about to ask what she’s talking about, exactly, when the feathers strewn around them suddenly take flight again, rushing towards the jacket on the ground in front of them. When Tsunagu looks down to watch them convene on the crumpled garment, he is shocked to find a small child sticking his head out from underneath the collar. The boy looks as confused as Tsunagu feels. Or the one where Hawks is de-aged, secrets come to light, and Best Jeanist may or may not be planning the downfall of the Hero Commission.
take my gun from the enemy's side
Keigo has known since he was a child that his soulmate is going to hate him. He knows he is one of the unlucky few who have a mark displaying pain, instead of love. That he’s got his tragedy inked onto his body for all the world to see. Why else would he have the shape of a large hand wrapped around the base of his throat? Keigo's not expecting his soulmate to care for him, he's not expecting to end up caring for the League of Villains, and he's definitely not expecting a happy ending. He's wrong, on all accounts.
Time™ to Go Feral
Sir Nighteye's quirk was a deeply useful one, with a rich history of helping solve cases, assist investigations and offer support to friends and acquaintances. It was, absolutely, not intended to be misused and abused for something like this. "Can you explain why you’ve seen fit to consort with villains?” “Consorting? I’m not-” “Okay, fine.” Mirai huffed, impatient. “Why are you fucking villains-” Hawks made a noise like a car trying to restart. This was going well. (In which Nighteye survives, inadvertently discovers a conspiracy, emotionally adopts a small child and an utter dipshit, and fights the Hero Commission in hand to hand combat...completely by accident)
Drunken Lips (Spill All Your Secrets)
If Rumi Usagiyama had one fatal flaw, it was that she couldn't keep a secret to save her life. She was too used to speaking her mind. If Tsunagu Hakamata had one fatal flaw, it was that he could come off as condescending. He meant well, really, but sometimes other people got the wrong idea. If Hawks had one fatal flaw, he'd be fucking thrilled because one was a massive decrease from the ten to fifteen flaws he got weekly reminders about from the Hero Commission. In which Rumi gets drunk and reveal something she wasn't supposed to know, Tsunagu has been trying to help, and Hawks has been through too much for a 22 year old whose been groomed for the past 14 years.
atonement for a bygone sin
Hawks-- no, Keigo. He's Keigo at this point. He's not a hero. He is a single father, and he is fucking terrified. He's on his fucking knees in front of the League of Villains and begging, like he has no shame, because at this point he doesn’t, for them to help him. He's got his little girl, his daughter, bundled tightly to his chest, his too big headphones over her ears, as he trembles and tries to cry and can't because of his goddamn quirk. Keigo decides to get his daughter away from the Commission, by any means necessary. In the end, it goes better than he expected.
These Hands We Were Dealt May Splinter
Sanji hears the explosion in the early evening. It's not very close — somewhere on the island, for sure, but not close enough to shake the house itself. He tilts his head towards it, pauses for a moment from slicing scallions, but doesn't pay it much more mind than that. Things explode all the time, around Big Mom and her family. So long as they're nowhere near him or anything important to him, Sanji does his best not to think about it. That's not his place. It becomes his problem when, five minutes later, Pudding shoulders open the door to his rooms, anger licking off her like flames. Sanji carefully places his knife to the side and turns to face her. She crowds him against the counter, glaring. "Did you know about this?" she demands in a hiss, leaning forward. “Are you in on whatever hairbrained scheme they're trying to pull off right now? Do you have fucking contact with them?" In a slightly different world, Sanji is made even more his mother's son.
out of fragments in little light
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Dark Lord of the Sith, takes a hostage. If he wanted it to go smoothly, he probably shouldn't have picked Feral, no matter how much of a pain Maul is.
drag my teeth across your chest (to taste your beating heart)
There's a Jedi standing on the landing platform, entirely unmoving, and he’s been there for almost ten minutes now.
suffer the pain of losing your firstborn
this is what it looks like when your grandfather loves you but your whole family's emotionally constipated. (except for your uncle, but that might just be all the tea he drinks.)
Mouth of the Wolf, Eyes of the Lamb
“No one told me what prayers to recite,” Johnny forces out, trying to summon the well of anger that usually burns within him when he enters the church. “‘Spose they’re not used to trussin’ up somethin’ that can talk back.” Father Simon says nothing, his footsteps echoing out on the stone; growing louder as he approaches. “I can baa for ya if that’d make it more familiar,” he spits, some remnant of himself flaring and he strains his arms, struggling in vain against the ropes binding his wrists. He follows the hem of his robe as he circles him; his keen eyes heavy as they study the sigils on his skin until he finally comes to a stop behind him. He’s not even to see his death. Johnny curses himself as only now does grief come at being denied a final look into his eyes. Even now, you can’t help but chase sin.
Two Plans
Talia meant for Jason to realize that Tim had no business being Robin, that he needed to be removed from the position. Jason watched the videos over and over.
