At some point they *always* expect what he can't stand to give them. Kate was the only woman he'd ever known who was like him and didn't want sex. Without her, he faces the rest of his life needing love but ultimately lonely. I'd like to see Peter or maybe Elizabeth figure this out.

Diana gets annoyed at Neal for flirting with her, he admits that he only flirts so much because it doesn't mean anything. He confesses that he's never come out to anyone but Kate, and he doesn't want to lie to Peter, but he's also scared that coming out will cause him to lose the most important person in his life. Diana helps and encourages him.

Neal forgot to turn off his audio transmitter before engaging in some personal business. Well, "forgot"...

"You, upstairs," El said to Neal. He beamed, twirled on one foot, and trotted out. "And you need to stop making it so fun to mess with you," she added to Peter. She surprised a look of such melting fondness on his face as he looked after Neal that her breath caught. "No," he said quietly. "I really don't."

Space AU - Peter got Neal paroled to his and El's ship because he couldn't bear the thought of Neal on a prison planet. El hijacks Neal into her event planning because she can't bear to see his talents being wasted while he and Peter pine over each other. But there's many perils in space, not the least of which is to convince her boys to stop being silly and listen to her!

Before seeing the picture, she'd just slotted Neal Caffrey in as one more thing Peter's brain couldn't let go of, and amusing yourself while your spouse hunted down the greatest international art thief of the age was certainly classier than being a football widow.
