Designers often use this strategy to help stakeholders envision divergent scenarios for their organization in the context of uncertainty.
We asked the students to consider the forces at play in today’s fast-changing society, such as artificial intelligence and decentralized governance models, and write a story about the future. Zooming out of this aspirational story, they mapped out what would have to be true from a technological and business standpoint to bring positive aspects of that future to fruition, while calling attention to factors or decisions that could negatively impact our world years from now. At its core, design fiction is a strategic exercise that connects the dots between vision and execution, transitioning teams from imagining the future to taking action.167weinreichChristy Dena's Field Notes From Earth » ARG Design Charts4384512020-12-03T19:28:25ZZ167weinreichChristy Dena's Field Notes From Earth » Narrative Design Methods: The Journey Chart4384502020-12-03T19:26:13Z2020-12-03T11:26:45ZThe Journey Chart is an overview of the different elements of a project juxtaposed to show how they work together over the duration of the player/audience/reader experience. I’m sharing the Journey Chart Method because I’ve found it to be a nifty way to externalise, discover, inspire, unify, direct, and communicate the various elements of a project and how they are all connected.167weinreichThe Use of Story and Emotions in Gamification | Interaction Design Foundation4155532020-10-06T16:17:11ZZ167weinreichDESIGN THINKING FOR COMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONALS How Design Thinking processes can help you shape organizational stories that connect2733592020-01-02T13:58:12ZZ167weinreich30+ Immersive Storytelling platforms, apps, resources & tools2669602019-10-03T07:13:27ZZ167weinreichThese Maps Reveal the Hidden Structures of 'Choose Your Own Adventure' Books - Atlas Obscura761372017-06-21T11:20:01ZZ167weinreichOptimizing for Context in the Omnichannel User Experience762172017-02-27T09:39:21ZZSummary: Design for each channel’s unique strengths and role in the customer journey to create usable context-specific experiences.167weinreichUsing Transmedia Storytelling to Increase Serendipity in Informal Learning | Robert Pratten | Pulse | LinkedIn763392016-11-29T11:49:53ZZ167weinreichDeveloping Discipline: Story Architecture — Part 2 – The Coffeelicious – Medium763452016-11-01T14:30:39ZZ167weinreichDeveloping Discipline: Story Architecture — Part 1 – The Coffeelicious – Medium763462016-11-01T14:28:16ZZ167weinreichPlay your way to impact with a new media engagement strategy game | MEDIA IMPACT FUNDERS764042016-09-16T12:06:35ZZ167weinreichProject Models: Narrative Design for Social Change - Lina Srivastava771252015-01-05T07:59:57ZZ167weinreich40 must read books on story, play & design | culture hacker771272015-01-05T02:42:55ZZ167weinreichHow to run a transmedia storysprint – Learn Do Share772112014-11-20T22:13:27ZZ167weinreichA Facilitator’s Guide to Running a Reboot Lab – Part 1 of 4 – Learn Do Share772122014-11-20T22:11:49ZZ167weinreichKnowledge Base – Learn Do Share772132014-11-20T22:10:37ZZ167weinreichThe Storyworld of Things - Rob Pratten772622014-10-28T18:35:30ZZ167weinreichHow Ada, Okla., Warmed to Its Cold, Silent New Cop - WSJ774192014-08-25T18:53:44ZZ167weinreichTransmedia Playbook774952014-06-29T23:05:47ZZ167weinreichPower of Story775512014-05-12T19:52:55ZZ167weinreichStorytelling for UXD775522014-05-12T19:38:39ZZ167weinreichDownload Persona Template | Fake Crow775792014-04-24T19:49:10ZZ167weinreichDownload Our Free Persona Template | Fake Crow775802014-04-24T19:48:08ZZ167weinreichFoundations of Experience Design • Phenomenal Work - Brian Clark775852014-04-20T10:14:59ZZ167weinreichHighlights of the Eye-Opening 2013 SATE Conference - Entertainment Designer - Theme park, museum and exhibit design & technology776972013-12-16T06:18:27ZZStorytelling, Architecture, Technology and Experience167weinreichResonate: Present Visual Stories that Transform Audiences - Nancy Duarte777302013-11-07T22:37:19ZZ167weinreichHi: Narrative mapping the world — Medium777692013-10-08T04:54:00ZZ167weinreichA New Story: Purposeful Storytelling and Designing WIth Data - Harmony Institute778512013-08-04T07:41:28ZZ(case study of Lance Weiler's Sky is Falling)167weinreichNow & Next: Future of Engagement778942013-05-29T18:23:39ZZ167weinreichBE PHENOMENAL • Phenomenal Work - Brian Clark780532012-10-22T20:05:21ZZ167weinreichTransmedia Design for 3 Screens - Make That 5 (Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox)782942011-08-30T05:12:28ZZ167weinreichDesigning Fictitious Corporate Websites (Deus Ex Machinatio)786592010-11-01T19:12:55ZZ167weinreichInteractive Bag of Tricks: Multimedia Storytelling Options787392010-09-22T07:15:58ZZ167weinreichHomer Simpson for Nonprofits: The Truth About What People Really Think and What It Means for Promoting Your Cause790202010-02-23T04:31:10ZZ167weinreichBetter User Experience With Storytelling – Part One790332010-02-12T07:28:35ZZ167weinreichBetter User Experience With Storytelling, Part 2790342010-02-12T07:20:40ZZ167weinreich
